KEAR provided fuel construction and demolition services for demolition of the existing bulk jet fuel tanks at the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego, California. These tanks were over 88’ in diameter and 13’ deep and included the demolition of all supporting systems including all existing vaults, monitoring wells, jet fuel pipelines, electrical systems and concrete structures. All discovered contaminated soils, asbestos and lead paint were properly abated and removed from the site, and KEAR provided all inspections and testing as required by local and federal regulatory agencies. Both of the UST sites were backfilled and all surfaces restored for future use.
